Bail in the desert

“I chose to paint this Palm Springs casita a deep rich chocolate brown because I thought it fit organically in the desert where the light is amazing and the neutral color of sand is everywhere. I was influenced by my favorite resorts in Bali where saturated shades of brown are coupled with creamy limestone and there is always an interesting splash of contrasting color. The result was a far cry from the white box one usually encouters with new construction. The casita served as the pool house, so I used a fashion forward camouflage sunbrella fabric on the sofa to protect against wet bathing suits and pets.”
